Renew your study permit

Study permits expire at the same time as your studies, after which you must leave Canada.

Your license’s expiration date is located in the upper right corner. Typically, the expiration date is 90 days longer than the length of your study program. This 90-day period gives you the option of preparing to leave Canada or extending your stay.

 Costs and processing time:

You need to pay 150 dollars to obtain a study permit, as well as 350 dollars to regain your status. Normally, the processing and response time is about 69 days.

If you wish to stay in Canada without further study:

Among the few options available are:

1. Leave Canada.
2. If you have completed your studies and are eligible, you should apply for a work permit.
3. Apply to change your status and stay in Canada as a visitor

If you decide to continue your education:

Your study permit must be renewed. To extend your study permit, note the following:
