Super visa (for parents and grandparents)

Competence:

Those who want to qualify for a special visa must:

• • Be outside of Canada when applying for a special visa
  • Have health insurance from a Canadian insurance company that has the following specifications:

– At least 1 year validity from the date of arrival

– Cover at least $ 100,000

– Proof of medical insurance payment (verbal reference is not accepted)

• • Have a signed invitation letter from your child or grandchild that should contain clauses such as:

– Commitment to financial support during your visit

– Number and list of people who are present in this person’s home

– Copy of Canadian citizenship or permanent residence permit

• • Have a child or grandchild as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
  • Permission to enter Canada
  • Take an immigration medical exam
  • Meet a number of other special conditions

It should be noted that dependants cannot be included in this application.

Other conditions to be considered:

Before deciding whether you can enter Canada, we take into consideration a number of factors. As a true visitor to the country, you must leave Canada at the end of your stay.

We will also consider the following when issuing an entry permit:

• • The general economic and political conditions of your country
  • The purpose of your visit
  • Your relations with your country
  • Stability of your family and finances

Financial support (proof of funds):

Obtaining permission to enter Canada from the Canadian government requires proof that your grandchild or child household has the minimum necessary income. The following examples of documents can be used to prove that your child or grandchild household is financially stable:

• • Employment letter including salary and date of employment
  • Notice of Assessment (NOA) or T4 / T1 for the last tax year
  • Employment insurance stubs
  • Bank statements
  • pay stubs
